Koala

The Australian government has officially listed the koala as endangered after a decline in its numbers due to land clearing and catastrophic bushfires shrinking its habitat. With the struggle against mass habitat loss, bushfires, disease and drought, the koala bear is now considered "endangered" by the Australian government. Koala numbers have more than halved between 2001 and 2021 to 92,000, according to the Threatened Species Scientific Committee.
