By 2025, it will have decreased by more than 80% over 75 years. Palm oil and climate change are destroying its habitat, and illegal hunting makes things worse.

Bornean Orangutan

The leopard has declined 30% in the last 21 years. On top of habitat loss, there is heavy hunting, mostly for the illegal wildlife trade.

Clouded Leopard

Decreased by more than 50% in the last 45 years. Extensively hunted for trade and for food.

Gibbon

Endangered because of habitat loss. Decreased by 50-80% in the last ~40 years.

Orangutans are critically endangered. But we can save them by saving their forests.  Rimba Raya protects lowland peat swamp forests in Borneo, Indonesia, helping to ensure that one of the last remaining populations of orangutans on the planet will be around for years to come.

Nestled in the southern coast of Borneo lies the Rimba Raya Orangutan Reserve. One of the most highly endangered ecosystems in the world, this lowland peat swamp forest is home to over a thousand plant and animal species.  Every day, paper and palm oil interests put Indonesian forests in jeopardy. Losing them means losing one of the largest natural carbon stores in the world. Rimba Raya helps protect these forests, the communities and wildlife that depend on them, and improves access to clean water, clean energy, and health care for these communities.
